Joseph Victor - President and CEO
As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Victor sets the corporate strategy for DVS. Mr. Victor has more than 25 years of experience fostering product innovation and building value for customers, shareholders, and employees. Most recently, Mr. Victor was President and CEO of Applied Precision Inc., a manufacturer of high end microscopy systems for life sciences research and drug development acquired by GE Healthcare in 2011. Before that he drove significant sales growth, new product development and overall profitability of the Applied Precision business in the roles of President, Sr. VP Life Sciences, VP R&D and Operations, and VP R&D. Prior to Applied Precision, Mr. Victor held various executive management and technical positions in the aviation, high technology, and energy markets. Mr. Victor holds an MBA from UCLA and MS and BS degrees in engineering from the University of Washington. Mr. Victor is based in the company headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA and is also a Director of DVS.
Scott Tanner – Chief Technology Officer, General Manager (Canadian operations) and Co-Founder
Dr. Tanner is based in the Canadian operations located in Toronto, Ontario and provides the focus on research and development of the mass cytometry technology platform at DVS Sciences. A co-founder of DVS, he led the company through the introduction of the company's first products into the marketplace, including the CyTOF® instrument platform and the MAXPAR® reagents line. Dr. Tanner retains a faculty appointment at the University of Toronto, managing an international collaboration to advance the mass cytometry technology. Prior to the establishment of DVS in 2004, Dr. Tanner was Principal Scientist with MDS Sciex, the analytical technologies division of MDS Inc. In his 25 years at Sciex, Dr. Tanner developed and helped to commercialize a string of mass spectrometry products. Dr. Tanner received the 2011 University of Toronto Inventor of the Year Award for Biomedical and Life Sciences, the 2011 ThermoFisher Scientific Spectroscopy Award, the 2003 W.A.E. McBryde medal from the Canadian Chemical Society, and the 2001 Manning Innovation Foundation Award of Distinction. Dr. Tanner completed his PhD in Physical Chemistry at York University in Toronto. Dr. Tanner is also a Director of DVS.
Mark Tenboer - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. TenBoer manages the financial operations for DVS Sciences and has broad experience in life science companies. Previously he was Chief Financial Officer of Avantis Medical Systems, a developer of endoscopic devices for the early detection and prevention of colon cancer. He served as Vice President Finance at Affymetrix and Panomics (acquired by Affymetrix), a privately held provider of multiplex gene expression and protein analysis assays. Mr. TenBoer has also held finance positions at Galileo Pharmaceuticals, Murdock and Associates, Franklin Resources, and Deloitte and Touche. Mr. TenBoer received a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Neil Kennedy - Vice President, Sales
Mr. Kennedy joined DVS Sciences in July of 2011, and is responsible for worldwide sales and support. He has over 18 years of commercial experience with various life sciences companies including Applied Biosystems, Affymetrix and Quantum Dot. Prior to joining DVS Sciences, Mr. Kennedy was Vice President of Sales and Applications Support at Sequenom. Before that, Mr. Kennedy was Director of Drug Discovery Sales at Millipore where he was responsible for target profiling services, multiplex and traditional immunoassays, flow cytometry and OEM sales. Mr. Kennedy earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences from California State University, Chico.
Pam Delucchi - Vice President , Operations California
Ms. Delucchi is responsible for the California Operations for DVS Sciences. She has over 25 years of experience in the life science industry in both startup and large company environments. Prior to joining DVS Sciences, Ms. Delucchi was Vice President Operations and Quality at Panomics (acquired bv Affymetrix) a privately held provider of multiplex gene expression and protein analysis assays. Before that, Ms. Delucchi was Director of Manufacturing and Program Management at Clontech Laboratories, Inc. (acquired by BDBiosciences) where she was responsible for manufacturing operations in addition to programs for technology transfer and business integration. Ms. Delucchi received her M.S. in Microbiology and Genetic Engineering from San Francisco State University.
Mary-Kay Lippert - Vice President, Operations Canada
Ms. Lippert is responsible for the Canadian Operations for DVS Sciences. She has over 20 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing in the high tech industry. Prior to joining DVS Sciences, Ms. Lippert was Director, Business Process Improvement and previously Director, Manufacturing at AB Sciex (formerly MDS Sciex). At Sciex she was responsible for the manufacturing operations of mass spectrometers including production, manufacturing engineering, procurement and planning. Ms. Lippert received her B.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo and her M.B.A. at Hawthorne University, Salt Lake City.
Dmitry Bandura - Principal Scientist, Co-Founder
Dr. Bandura is a co-founder of DVS. In his role of Director, Instrumentation Development, he is responsible for initiation, implementation and coordination of research and development efforts for the CyTOF® line of products. Before the formation of DVS, Dr. Bandura had joined MDS Sciex, where he worked as senior research scientist in research and development of new ICP-MS instrumentation (1998-2005) and led the ICP-MS research (2004-2005). Prior to joining Sciex, Dr. Bandura was fundamental to the development of the only commercial ICP-TOF-MS instrument for elemental analysis, a product he developed with GBC Scientific Equipment in Australia. Dmitry completed M.Sc. in Engineering Physics at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute and earned his Ph.D. in Technical Sciences in 1992.
Vladimir Baranov - Principal Scientist, Co-Founder
Dr. Baranov, co-founder of DVS Sciences, provides the overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of DVS, as well as day-to-day leadership and management to all company operations functions. With more than 25 years of experience in Mass Spectrometry, Dr. Baranov brings a high level of applications expertise to DVS. Prior to the formation of DVS, Dr. Baranov, a Senior Scientist at MDS Sciex, was a key member of the research team that developed and promoted the Dynamic Reaction Cell®, which remains today at the pinnacle of quadrupole ICP-MS technology. Dr. Baranov, together with Dr. Scott Tanner, received the Manning Award of Distinction from the Manning Innovation Awards foundation for the remarkable invention of the ICP-MS Dynamic Reaction Cell. Dr. Baranov earned his M.Sc. at Moscow State University and completed his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 1987.
Olga Ornatsky- Principal Scientist. Co-Founder
Dr. Ornatsky holds the position of Director of Bioassay Development at DVS Sciences, Inc. and she is a co-founder of the company. She has more than 15 years of experience in the commercial environment as a senior strategic product application developer and in providing advanced customer/collaborator support. Prior to the establishment of DVS Sciences, Dr. Ornatsky led her research group as a Senior Scientist at MDS Proteomics, a division of MDS Inc. Previously, she has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at York University, Toronto; Senior Research Associate in the Laboratory of Vascular Biology and Cardiac Surgery at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto; and Research Scientist at the Cardiology Centre in Moscow. Dr. Ornatsky earned her MSc the Moscow State University and completed her Ph.D. in Cell & Molecular Biology in 1989.
