Regional Sales Manager (East Coast,U.S.)
The role of the Regional Sales Manager is to ensure achievement of sales objectives through both strategic and tactical activities. He/She will be responsible for building and executing business plan, and contributing regular market updates and reconnaissance. This position works closely as a partner with the technical support team to help ensure customer success. Job Responsibilities
- Meet and/or exceed sales target through development and execution of sales plan
- Provide regular accurate sales forecasts and quarterly plan of action
- Successfully navigate and manage complex sales negotiations
- Develop and maintain strong customer connections at various levels in the organization
- Effectively prospect to generate new customer leads and build the sales pipeline
- Demonstrate command of scientific knowledge to engage in collaborative sale
- Work together with field applications scientist and service engineer colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction in pre and post-sales situations
- Deliver technology and applications overview presentations
- Maintain account management and sales pipeline in Salesforce.com
- Provide monthly reports on market insight and customer feedback
- Work in collaboration marketing and the field team to translate market insight and knowledge into compelling positioning, marketing communications, product development and competitive selling strategies
Minimum Requirements
- Life Science degree (B.S./B.A.) is required (cell biology, biochemistry or molecular biology preferred), with relevant technical and scientific background
- Minimum 3 years successful capital equipment sales experience in complex, multi-layered environment. Flow cytometry experience a plus
- Proven experience with key life science accounts in eastern U.S.
- Strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships
- Highly motivated and successful individual who enjoys a challenging and dynamic work environment
- Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated track record in lead generation and prospecting
- Solid organizational skills and ability to set priorities/manage time effectively
- Highly adaptable and independent
Travel
Approximately 50%, with some potential international travel
